Intended to provide a place for all children staying at the Renewal Center, the Family Center means that from toddler to teenage years, they will feel comfortable and welcome.

Offering a transitional space for toddlers with age-appropriate activities and toys, to the reading lounge for elementary aged kiddos, this will be a busy place for sure! In the lounge you’ll find fun colors with room for kids to join in a game or celebration. Lastly, the Lab offers a quiet space including computer stations for teenagers looking to focus, study or watch television.

Another feature of the Family Center is a private classroom that will offer classes focused on Parent Education, Early Literacy opportunities, and more focused on the whole family. The Center will also welcome Community Resource partners to present their programs and resources to those in shelter offering more opportunities for positive outcomes! Case Management, Day Habilitation, Job Readiness and Digital Literacy will all be available during a family’s six month stay. The focus will be on preparing these families for the next step in their housing journey with other community organizations like the Esplanade House.
